turning points

Still working on the clip. The problem is that I got thousand other ideas in a minute...Most of yesterday's evening I spent on doing so called CPD's though...(CPD-Continuous Professional Development)
I think that I am reaching a small stabilization right now...You know approaching a point where everything has to be re-evaluated, where your life changes upside-down.

change your perspectives

Although I still haven't done the clip, I am quite near to finalizing it. I will either do a clip to my own song (probably I should start from this) or to one of Hull's best perfomers Bitmap (the video clip would correspond well with the artist's nick...). Funny thing is that while looking on last.fm for Bitmap's songs I found out that one of his most devoted listeners is Gansaku. And his avatar looks like this!!!

...it all seems to be interconnected...

separation

This weekend I am spending at home. Decided to clean my flat (finally!!!). In free time am going to record some new tunes, so you could enjoy it. Meanwhile I am planning to organize some space for painting. Am doing a reasearch about available canvas (prices, dimensions etc.) and paints (I got this idea from PinkyVision to get some "testers" from the shops...). So expect to see how some of my drawings turn into paintings!!! Will be posting the results. Any feedback welcomed!!!

Today I am also going to work on a new idea for visualisation/video clip to a song (haven't decided which song though...). The idea is very simple. I want to code the lyrics of the song in Semacode and create an animation out of it!!! Hopefully effects to be seen tomorrow (probably will spend whole night deciding which song to choose...any suggestions appreciated!!!).

supercollider

Back to the SuperCollider! So expect new experiments/recordings soon. I am trying to get in contact with OpenLab to take part in some events. If you are in London on Tue 30th June try to take part in those workshops! I would!

CNSCNC

On my way to Huddersfield for Capoeira workshops with Mestre Valdir da Silva, I realized that concept of consciance is unknown to most of the British people. They choose 'to be on the RIGHT side' (...Carrol's 'Alice in Wonderland'$$$). For them most Ethical decisions are based on pragmatism. The values can be mea$ured in terms of efficiency, benefits/savings, ergonomy. Most of this data can be easily manipulated. Thus the system becomes unstable and reliant on opinions. Conscience is not easy topic for public relations.

I got this idea today...Maybe I will make it happen...To create a website/s/game that would allow for a screening for a particular medical condition. There already are patient oriented websites on which patient may asses risk of particular conditions. That's what I am interested in but the idea I got was to make it more "graphical", not necessarily that obvious that it is a website about health (this however might implicate some legal/confidentiality issues...).

FRST D

Today I had an extreme situation at work. One of the patients lost consciousness and fell down. I reacted positively. Here's what I've done more or less:
1. Checked verbal response (patient was unconscious)
2. Checked the breathing (listened to the breath by placing ear next to his mouth and observing his chest) (meanwhile the ambulance was contacted)
3. Checked his pulse on the neck
4. After establishing that he was breathing i placed him in recovery position.

So...For all of you there! Here is a small review what to do if this happened to you!

To check if the person is conscious, try to get their response by gently tapping their shoulders and calling their name.

If there is no response:
1.Open their airway by placing one hand on their forehead and gently tilting the head back and lifting the chin. Remove any visible obstructions from the mouth and nose.

2.Check breathing by looking, listening and feeling for breathing on your cheek for up to ten seconds.

If they are not breathing normally, resuscitate.

If they are breathing, treat any life-threatening injuries and put them in recovery position.

Recovery position for adults.

This is the best position for casualty who is unconsious and breathing.

If the casualty is unconsious but breathing, place them on their side in the recovery position.

1.Place arm nearest you at right angle.

2.Move the other arm, as shown, with the back of their hand against their cheek. Then get hold of the knee furthest from you and pull up until foot is flat on the floor.

3.Pull the knee towards you. Keeping the person's hand pressed against their cheek, and position the leg at a right angle.

4.Make sure that the airways remain open by tilting the head back and lifting the chin. Check breathing.

5.Monitor the casualty condition until the help arrives.

Read this couple of times until you become familiar with the algorithm.

New tune loop7 is ready. There is an interesting story behind it. Natalis and Hubert both contributed to it's creation. Hubert by sending me a link to a nice on-line synthesiser ToneMatrix (I think I will be using it more often...) and Natalis by sending me a link to tkanka.net (I took the vocals from it...actually I opened the link while recording the tracks and I liked the effect so I decided to use it! kinda ad hoc/improvisation situation!). To check the tune visit my myspace page LIGHTLOOP.

New linocut. This print has much better quality than the previous one. I tried to experiment with different cuts to find out what effects will that create. I also wanted to colorize it a little so that it was more "readable".
I have made initial three prints. The starting idea was to create an abstract object...so the final effect (at least for this print) is not neccessarily what I intended. With the future prints I am going to experiment with colours and different types of paints.
Well done! First good quality print is ready.

et voila! voila? hmmm...a long way to go baby...

Although I am well awere of that my first tries in linocut are far away from good quality, I am publishing here the first print not only for historic purposes but also to have something that I shall relate to in the future so that I could compare and find out what developments (if any) would I make. The plan is that I want to master the technique and become its conscious user within next couple of weeks. Quite ambitious plan considering that I should be studying different things for my work...However! Expect new work soon! Feel free to comment (feedback please!!!).

Another weekend in London. This however is going to be last weekend for about a month. I have to concentrate on my work and also am planning to finalize some graphical projects and turn some sketches into finished works.
The weekend was great. Weather wasn't as good as during my last stay but it didn't stop me from discovering new parts of the city.
I was staying at Andy's and Karolina's house (thanks for that!). The new person I met in funny circumstances in extraordinary square (c2m) was Julia (hugs!).
